Change happens...It is inevitable.
The world is changing as well as our country, The Philippines.
Time and again we have experienced war and battle against many countries for us to gain independence, democracy, freedom.
We admit, we are enjoying it in one way or another.
The battle is not yet over.
The battle against poverty is far from over.
We have leaders and politicians who they say devoted to serve and love his country and changes & reforms always takes place when they assumed office.
But does it change us? Does it change our economy? Does it change the lives of the Filipinos?
Cars and vehicles are growing in our streets
Does it mean that our economy is improving?
Traffic enforcers from different agencies always on the intersection
Does it mean that there would be less violators on the roads?
We have a huge domestic and foreign debt
Does it mean that the money we borrowed was spent for the betterment of our country?
Donations and relief goods were always given by the developed country
Does it mean that the victims of calamity truly benefited from it?
Billions and Billions have been collected by the BIR every year
Does it mean that we can now pay and lessen our foreign debt?
Government claimed that our economy is now stronger
Does it mean that the government has a more job to offer?
We now have a modern hero called OFW
Does it mean that the respect and protection due to them were given?
Remittances from OFW reached US$15Billion a year
Does it mean that their lives are now easy?
The number of soldiers and police are increasing
Does it mean that we are now safe and secured from criminal elements?
As claimed, the number of schools and rooms are growing
Does it mean that the Filipino students will not experience classroom shortage?
There were so many nurses and nursing students
Does it mean we have enough people to take care of our patients?
Long before, Philippines is agricultural country
Does it mean that no Filipinos are starving?
There were projects of Farm-to-Market roads
Does it mean that our farmers ease the burden of transporting their farm products?
We now have intelligent and educated leaders
Does it mean that they have comprehensive plan for the progress of the country?
We have mass transport like buses, LRT and MRT
Does it mean that we can go home safe and easily?
Flyovers and bridges have grown year by year
Does it mean that the traffic situation is now resolve?

Hundreds of billion are collected by Bureau of Customs every year
Didn't you notice who's getting richer?

Does it mean that we are winning against it?
Our election are now automated
Does it mean that the greedy candidates can no longer cheat?

The campaign against kidnapping are nationwide
Does it silenced the syndicate and kidnappers?
Foreign investors are coming over to our country
Does the majority of Filipinos benefited from it?
Big time businessmen are getting richer & richer
Does it mean that their employees' lives improved as well?
We have been served by president who is an economist
Does is it mean that our economy has grown?
We have been served by different kinds of President
Does their "affection" towards the poor enough to lift them from poverty?
Every Congressman has a budget of Php70M per year
Does it mean that the needs of their constituent have been provided?
Every Senator has an annual budget of P200M
Does it mean that there were so many useful projects have been accomplished?
Leaders and politicians always has a promise of good governance
Does it still annoy you 'though we know they're lying?
We have Billions of dollar reserves
Does it make Philippines and Filipinos richer?
Everything has changed yet nothing changes in the lives of the Filipinos.
As we gaze and stare to our neighboring Asian countries like Japan, Singapore, Korea, etc., as we envy the Japanese and Korean's patriotism and Singaporean's self-disciplined who elevates from poverty in just two decades...the Filipinos' are blindfolded looking for a needle in a haystack! Looking for a change.
Does the changes we needed are lies only on our leaders?
No. The change we needed is within us Filipinos.
I never wish that the Philippines will be rich in the blink of an eye but all I want is a change, change for the better. The Better Philippines and The Better Filipinos.
How many decades we need to make this better change happened? One? Two? Hundreds? or Hopeless?
